He tells her that he’s there for her, anytime she’d need
She smiles at him shyly, as he walks away with speed

Sometimes while in bed at night, he dreams that she’s a queen
She gets attacked by monsters, but he bravely jumps between
He fights or kills them off, the hero of the day
And then he calms his queen, takes her fears away
She sees into his heart and sees what kind of man
And with fanfare worth the moment, their future there began

In real life though, he hides and runs. His heart pounds when she’s near
His breathing always quickens and he knows she sees his fear
He longs to be her hero, just to know that she might care
If only she could read his heart, for then she’d know he’s rare
He knows that he is special, if he could only make her see
But she doesn’t think of him that way, so that will never be

Sometimes while in bed at night, she dreams that she’s a queen
She needs someone to understand, someone on whom to lean
He’s always there in time of need, her brave and trusted knight
Fierce in her protection, others pale before his might
He sees into her heart and sees what kind of woman
And with fanfare worth the moment, their future there began

In real life though, she hides and runs, her heart pounds when he’s near
Her breathing always quickens and she knows he sees her fear
She longs to be his queen, just to know that he might care
If only he could read her heart, for then he’d know she’s rare
She knows that she is special if she could only make him see
But he doesn’t think of her that way, so that will never be

He doesn’t know that he already has her heart
He’s long since been her hero, for he listened from the start
She doesn’t know that he’d love to be the one
She’s long since been his queen, with a smile like the sun

She tells him in a small voice that she needs someone to hear
He smiles at her shyly, more than glad to lend an ear
