The night has come and gone
The breeze outside is cooling
Rain spatters on the lawn
The water’s started pooling

 Everything is peaceful
Then the sun begins to rise
The clouds begin to separate
As color paints the skies

And suddenly I realize
It all was just a dream
Me and you; everything
My mind begins to scream

I had it all; now vanished
The sum of my desire
In light and truth, ‘twas banished
My mind is made a liar

Emptiness arises
To flood my needy heart
For all that it despises
Life will once again impart

Throughout the day I’ll remember
How it all fit into place
In daydreams of The Dream
My mind seemingly lost in space

I’ll hunger for the time
When things aren’t what they seem
And into bed I’ll climb
Once again to have The Dream
