I have need of darkness
In shadows I may hide
I have need of honesty

Pull through the troubled times

To forgive my many crimes

I have need of strength
To carry this great weight
I have need of stamina

I have need of hope
Of greater things to be
I have need of wisdom
The wiser path to see

I have need of friendship
To lean on and to trust
I have need of guidance
From friends, this is a must

I have need of knowledge
When ignorant I stand
I have need of understanding
When knowledge is at hand

I have need of care
When loneliness sets in
I have need of comfort
Much to my chagrin

I have need of shelter
When life I cannot bear
I have need of light
Oh Lord, please hear my prayer

Of all the needs I have
No thing can ‘ere compare
The need to be as one
Your heart and mind to share
