Magic Mirror

  BACK

 Like a magic mirror
He shows them what he thinks they want to see
He tries so hard
To reflect on them what he knows that he should be

As if there were two sides
To this complex magic mirror
He watches them watching him
Behind the man at which they peer

He clouds the mirror and turns away
Trying to hide his pride
But no one knows he’s looking out
From behind the other side

To be something that
He never was he knows was a big mistake
He’d like to reconcile with truth
But the sacrifice is just to big too make

When he thinks no one is looking
Sometimes he peeks around the side
He only sees himself and then
Goes back behind the mirror to hide

Others know that he hides
And try to see so hard they stare
But he quickly turns to hide the pain
He can’t let anybody near

It hurts too much to see yourself in a magic, two-way, mirror
