Long Hours

  BACK

Tired, oh so tired; of what, I cannot say
But every hour lingers, time’s patience to convey
Where went the promised peace? The rest once counted on
Gone in days long past on this path I’m thrust upon

So many hearts desires; calling, crying, for relief
And louder than the others, that this hour might be brief
That this journey soon may end
That I may lay down my weary head

I beg of time, release me; let me fall into a peace
Where my hearts cries quiet down; in answers find release
Serenade my soul and lullaby my heart
That weariness may wither and this hour may depart
