Given Back

  BACK

 Through whispers of illusion
You work to hide the pain
By disregarding your delusion
Life leaves a wicked stain
Dreaming no longer adequate
To get you through the day
Friends now become requisite
To chase your fears away

And so you call upon them
Your soul, you bare it all
Not wanting to condemn
They raise you from the fall
In solitude, the path is bleak
In company though, bright
While tears were rolling down your cheek
Your friend has made things right

In return you tell them
How much they mean to you
More precious than any gem
With your trust, they remain true
In time you will reciprocate
Not to repay a debt
Their fears you will alleviate
Just because your friends upset
